Malaysia offers a combined degree in obstetrics and gynecology with a bachelor’s degree in either of the two fields. There are 29 obstetrics schools in Malaysia. Obstetrics and Gynecology is one of the most important areas of healthcare that deals with women’s health, contraception, natural and induced abortion, miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, infertility treatment etc. Gynecologist courses in Malaysia are regulated by the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC). It is designed by the National University of Malaysia School of Medicine. Gynecologist courses in Malaysia take about three years. This is one of the few countries in Asia that offer such a program. There are a number of courses that students can opt for – undergraduate certificate in obstetrics and gynaecology, undergraduate diploma in gynaecology or obstetrics and gynaecology.
